Many of the early hotels on Ocean Avenue were original buildings from the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition which were brought to Ocean Beach and converted into hotels. The Colorado Hotel was located at 14th and Ocean and survived until 1922 when it was destroyed by fire. The Neptune Hotel was located at 16th and Ocean Ave. The Columbia Hotel was located on the corner of 3rd and Ocean. The Delaware House was on the northwest corner of 13th and Ocean.
